Proverbs 13:24, “A refusal to correct is a refusal to love; love your children by disciplining them.”

When we think of discipline, many of us think of it in a negative connotation. For many, discipline conjures up images of detention after school or punishment from our parents. But discipline is not negative in God’s economy. In fact, discipline is what helps mold and shape us into who God wants us to be. It corrects our behavior and redefines our direction. It is something we all need.

As you think about your family, what role does discipline play? Is it something that you use to help mold and shape your children according to God’s plan? Don’t be afraid of discipline. Instead, use it as a tool the way God uses it. Allow discipline to flow from God’s divine purpose into your family business. And discover the amazing gift that discipline can be!

Talk with your family about discipline. Share with your children what God’s plan for discipline is, what it is for, and the potential it can have in your lives. And begin to see it from His divine point of view!

Ask God to help give you His perspective on discipline. Pray for wisdom as you implement it in your children’s lives, the way God uses it in yours.
