Limitless and Immeasurably More

Ephesians 3:17b—21, "And I pray that you... may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people to grasp... and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine, according to the power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen."

Think

There's no such thing as love at first sight. There's not! Yes, we are to love everyone, but we don't walk just down the street one day and decide to be in love with a complete stranger. Why? Because, true love requires knowledge of both the head and the heart. But before we can acquire heart knowledge, we have to intentionally seek out knowledge of their heart. When we love someone it is due to their unique traits, personality, and character qualities that we come to know over time.

Now, let's flip the script. Love must have an object and we are the objects of God's love. He made us, He knows us, and despite our flaws and sinfulness, He still loves us. In fact, there's nothing we could ever do or not do to make Him love us any more or any less. Conversely, we can have knowledge of God without having love for God.  Essentially, we will never truly know God until we understand the magnitude of His love and choose love Him back.  And our great and limitless God can do "immeasurably more than we can ever ask or imagine". Can you imagine that? Oh wait, you can't! Ha! As the church, we unite to grow in what we know about God. And the more we know Him, the more we will seek to do for Him. That's our calling—together with the saints—to bring Him glory and to make His name known! Amen!

Pray

Thank You, Lord for the power of imagination and for doing more than I can even ask or imagine. May my heart be overflowing with Your fullness so I can love You more and serve You better.

Act

Today, simply remember that you are chosen, adopted, redeemed, forgiven, saved, sealed, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and YOU ARE LOVED!!!
