Romans 11:35-36, “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?’ For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.”

As Christ followers, we know God’s sovereignty, His supreme authority, rules over all creation. And we know that from it flows His providence, the unfolding of His divine plan for the entire universe. God is all knowing, all seeing, all powerful, and everywhere all the time. Absolutely nothing happens that He either didn’t personally orchestrate or allow to happen. Colossians 1:16b-17 states, “For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible… all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Therefore, even when it appears as if the whole world has gone crazy, and nothing seems to make sense, we can rest-assured that our great God is working in us and through us to accomplish His master plan.

It’s important to note, that although God is sovereign, He allows us to make our own choices. With that, however, come the consequences of our actions. Sometimes God will spare us from the fallout of our poor choices, and other times He won’t. Either way, He will work through every situation or circumstance for our good and His glory. So let’s thank God today for His constant provision and desire to be involved in every aspect of our lives.

Today praise God by praying through Psalm 100. Using personal pronouns, speak to Him directly. “Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.”

Father God, thank You for working through my mistakes and misfortunes for my benefit. Help me to not stray from the purpose You have set before me, and today may I glorify You through my actions and deeds.
