Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who live according to His purpose".
We've all made countless promises throughout our lives, but none of us—if we're honest—have kept them all. For example, with good intentions, how many times have you told someone you'd pray for them, and then left their presence and forgot? It's natural—it happens. We are fallible, hence the words of English poet Alexander Pope: "To err is human; to forgive is divine." Only God—infallible and perfect—keeps every promise. Psalm 145:13b states, "The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does". How great is that?
The Bible is a book of promise and fulfillment, and today's verse is a great example of God's devotion and faithfulness to those who love Him. When we feel the sting of betrayal—He is there to guide us through the pain for our gain. When we suffer—there's a purpose. In the midst of financial or relational distress—God has our best interest in mind. So, no matter what, IN ALL THINGS, God is at work for our good and His glory. Humans falter, but God's love never fails!
Father God, thank You for keeping every promise. You are always faithful and true. Help me to keep my word in order to honor others and to please You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Memorize today's verse. It's a great verse to remember in times of trouble, and to encourage others.
