“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24

Let’s be honest – sometimes we just don’t feel like working. Maybe we feel overwhelmed with our to-do list, or maybe we don’t feel like what we do really matters. Remember that God does His greatest work through our work. When you are working, no matter what your job may be, you are being used by God to care for creation in ways that it wouldn’t otherwise be cared for.

You may not think your work is significant, but your work is sacred. When you feel overlooked, remember that God knows what you are doing and He will honor your commitment. He is the One you are working for. Wherever you are during this season, you’re there for a reason.

Thank God for trusting you with the responsibility to care for His creation. Thank Him for the ways He’s blessed and cared for you through the work of others. Pray that He will give you a servant’s heart so that you may serve Him joyfully each day.

Read Colossians 3:23-24 each morning this week before you begin your day. Pray that God will help you to live out this scripture so that you’re working for Him!
