Romans 8:36-37, "As it is written: 'For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.' No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."

David had not yet even had the opportunity to explore his giftedness in battle. He was a teenage shepherd! Yet, upon discovery of this formidable giant terrorizing the entire Israelite army, he did what no one else was willing to do—he said, "I've got this!" Was it because of his extensive combat training? No! It wasn't about his preparation—it was about where God had positioned him to be! As a shepherd, he had fended off vicious predators such as lions and bears. Was he able to face the giant with the latest and greatest tactical equipment? No, but he knew God was with him, and had prepared him in the wilderness for future battle. So regardless of how ridiculous he might have initially appeared before Goliath with simply a leather strap and a stone, he was positioned and commissioned by the Almighty God to win.

Like David, God has been preparing us to conquer various giants throughout our lives. And He never wastes any chance to refine our skillset for what we will later accomplish. Even the dullest, most mundane tasks will benefit us in the future. Only God knows what we'll face—but due to His overwhelming love and grace, we can trust in Him to equip us for what's ahead. He has positioned us exactly where He wants us to move forward in faith to do amazing things. Remember, even the impossible is possible through Christ who gives us strength! Right now, God is saying to us, "You've got this!"

Equip yourself for battle with the word of God. Commit Isaiah 41:10 to memory. "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Father God, thank You for working through all things for my benefit. I trust in You always to equip me with the proper ability to conquer each new giant. Use me to do great things for Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
