The simple truth.

Read

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus…." Philippians 2:5

Think

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth to rescue us from our sins and provide the path to a relationship with God. He also came to be our example of how to live. In today’s verse, we see that our example for life should be the very author of life. We should model to the world what He modeled to us. It is then that we discover opportunities to make a difference for Him and to impact those around us.

When it comes to the pattern for your life, from where do you take your cues? To whom do you look to first when it comes to your behavior, attitudes and actions? Make sure your model is Christ!

Pray

Ask God to help you have an open mind and heart to see where you can adjust your life to better reflect the nature and character of Christ.

Act

Write down one area of your life where you can be more Christ-like. Each day, do one thing to improve that area. And track in a journal how you are improving.

What’s Your Purpose?

Read

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Think

At one point or another, we've all us asked the questions, "What is my purpose in life? What have I been placed on this earth to do?"

Some have identified their purpose; others have not and the question remains unanswered. Regardless, each of us was born with a special and unique purpose that God designed, specifically for our lives.

Whatever you may be experiencing or what you may be faced with in life, God’s purpose for your life does not change. In today's Scripture, God declares that He has plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope, and plans to give you a future. Every day you wake up, this is His plan, this is His purpose, and this is what He has in store for you. Now the question remains, "Are you making the most of your purpose?"

Pray

Pray that God will reveal (or affirm) His purpose for your life, and pray that He gives you the strength to begin walking in the things He has called you to do.

Act

Today, start by writing down what you think your purpose is, and make a list of the things you feel could help you achieve that purpose.

On purpose, for purpose

Read

"And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this.” Esther 4:14

Think

Every single person on earth has a purpose. In fact, one of our biggest questions in life is usually focused on that very fact. We want to discover our purpose, our meaning, why we are here. Some people have discovered their purpose. Others are still searching. And still others have given up, because they feel like they have no purpose. Where are you in that pursuit of purpose? If you have discovered your purpose, continue to fulfill it with everything you have. If you are still searching, don’t stop. And if you have come to the point that you don’t think you have a purpose, let today’s verse be an encouragement to you. Make no mistake; God has a purpose for your life. You were created ON purpose and FOR a purpose. Trust in Him to reveal that to you. Follow Him, and He will lead you to your true purpose.

Pray

Thank God for creating you on purpose and with purpose. Pray for wisdom and discernment as you discover your God-given purpose.

Act

One thing we were all created to do is serve God through the local church. Make that part of your purpose today. Sign up to volunteer, and discover just how much God has created you to do!

Uniquely Created

Read

"So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male andfemale he created them." Genesis 1:27

Think

There’s a battle going on in our world that does its best to draw everyone in. It’s not a battle in some foreign land. It’s not a battle fought with bullets and bombs. This battle is one we call "the gender war." Our world tells us that men and women are on opposite sides. The cry for “gender equality” is a loud one. But the fact is, men and women were created differently, uniquely by our great God! Men and women are both created to be image bearers of God. In today’s verse, we read about the role they play and how they work together, not separately. Here’s the reality: men and women were not meant to COMPETE with one another. Rather, we were created to COMPLETE one another!

Pray

Thank God for making you uniquely you. Ask Him to help you see where you fit in His creative order and how you can use your gifts to be an example to the world for Him.

Act

Think about the difference between men and women. Those differences aren’t just physical. Remember that we aren’t created to be the same. We are created uniquely, individually, and on purpose.
